For the past 26 hours, individuals injured during the July movement have been staging a sit-in protest in front of the Chief Advisor's office, demanding a single-point resolution. Their demonstration began at 9 am on February 26.
By 11 am on Thursday (February 27), approximately 25 to 30 protesters were still stationed at the main entrance. Security forces, including the police and the Armed Police Battalion (APBN), were closely monitoring the situation.
The protesters reported that they spent the night under the open sky. Some left in the morning for nearby locations, temporarily reducing their numbers. However, more injured individuals from different districts are on their way to join the movement, expected to arrive by noon or evening.
Initially, their protest centred on demands for medical treatment and rehabilitation. However, they have since intensified their stance, focusing solely on their primary demand.
On November 13 last year, hundreds of injured individuals from the July-August uprising staged a demonstration in front of the orthopedic hospital, calling for "better treatment." That protest lasted nearly 13 hours before they dispersed at around 3 am following assurances from four government advisors.
On February 1, at around 10:30 pm, the injured protesters resumed their movement outside Agargaon Orthopedic Hospital. This time, they expanded their demands to include rehabilitation, financial assistance, and official recognition from the state. Their demonstration continued throughout the night, escalating the next day as they blocked Agargaon and Shyamoli-Mirpur roads.
The protest lasted all day until they left Mirpur Road at 6 pm and marched toward the Chief Advisor's residence.
Eventually, after negotiations with Hasnat Abdullah, a key coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, the protesters agreed to leave their demonstration site near the Jamuna area and returned to the hospital at around 1:45 am.
