Name of vote center and voter number can be known by sending SMS through mobile phones in the upcoming February 1 city corporation elections.
Squadron Leader Kazi Ashiquzzaman, officer in charge of operation planning and communication of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) project delivered the information on Monday.
He said, after going to mobile phone’s message option one should type ‘PC’-space-‘NID Number’ and then send it to 105 number. The name of vote center and voter number will be available through the return SMS.
According to the Election Commission sources, there will be 7 thousand 850 voting booths under 1 thousand 318 vote centers against 30 lakh 9 thousand voters in Dhaka north city corporation while 6 thousand 589 voting booths under 1 thousand 150 vote centers will be for 24 lakh 52 thousand voters in Dhaka south city corporation.
