The attacker handed over to RAB

The young man who attacked Shahjalal University Professor Dr. Muhammed Zafar Iqbal was handed over to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

He was handed over to RAB at around 9 pm on Saturday. But the identification of the young man is yet to be confirmed.

A physician provided primary treatment to the attacker at the university medical center. Then he gained his consciousness.

RAB-9 Commander Lt. Colonel Ali Haidar Azad Ahmed said that after providing treatment to him the interrogation and investigation will begin.

Meanwhile, the physicians detected four wounds on the head of Dr. Muhammed Zafar Iqbal. Besides there were wounds of two knife attack on his hand and back.

Director of Osmani Medical College Hospital Brigadier General Mahbubul Haque said, there were four injuries on the head of Dr. Muhammed Zafar Iqbal. Besides he had symptoms of two knife attack on hand and back. 25 to 26 stitches were given to the wounds.

An Air Force helicopter carrying the famous writer took off Osmani Airport at around 10:30 pm on Saturday. He will be admitted to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital.
