Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has claimed that the achievements of the country, including the establishment of independent and sovereign Bangladesh, have been achieved by the hands of the Awami League and the Awami League government.
On Friday, December 6, Prime Minister made this satement in her address to the nation on the occasion of the four-year anniversary of the current government of Awami League.
Sheikh Hasina said, We achieved great freedom through 23 years of political struggle and victory in 9 months of liberation war under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. After independence, when the father of the nation was rebuilding the war-torn country. The anti-independence forces killed him on August 15, 1975 along with most of his family members. The Prime Minister said that after 21 years in 1996, Awami League got the opportunity to run the country. During the five years of 1996-2001, Awami League government did incredible development of the country in every sector. In food production, Bangladesh achieved self-sufficiency. During the period of 1996-2001, We established 11 thousand community clinics and brought health care to the doorsteps of mass people.
