
There will be some ban on automobiles plying except on the highways in eleventh national parliament election on December 30.
To ensure law and order and to avert any sabotage activity a gazette will be issued by the road transport ministry on Saturday on behalf of the Election Commission.
Joint Secretary of Election Commission Farhad Ahmed Khan confirmed the information to Rtv online.
He said, there is sternness on motorcycle in election. Motorcycles cannot be driven on December 29, 30 and 31. On the election day popular ride sharing services will be stopped. Besides, ban has been imposed on all types of private automobiles, CNG run auto rickshaws, taxicabs, microbuses, jeeps, pick up vans, buses, trucks, tempos, easy bikes and on water ways launch, engine boats, speed boats from 12 am, 29 December to 12 am, December 30.
Farhad Ahmed Khan also said, the ban will not be effective for Returning Officers and observers permitted by the Election Commission, journalists assigned for collecting news, officers-employees appointed for election work, members of law enforcing agencies, Election Commission observers, participating candidates, election agents, emergency services like- ambulance, fire service, power, gas, post and telecommunication and emergency commodity transport services and for the vehicles plying on highways.
