On Friday night (February 7), around 9 pm, a violent clash broke out in Dhirashram Dakshinkhan, Gazipur, after local residents accused students of vandalizing the house of former minister and district Awami League president Mozammel Haque. At least 15 students were injured in the attack.

According to the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Gazipur, most of the injured were taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital. Around 3 am, two central leaders of the movement, Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah, visited the hospital to meet the victims.

Leaders of the movement claim that they received reports of looting and vandalism at the former minister's house in Dhirashram.

Following the attack, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens' Committee have announced a protest rally in Gazipur on Saturday.
