UN Secretary-General António Guterres has arrived in Dhaka today for a four-day visit.
He landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5 pm on an Emirates flight. Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain welcomed him at the airport. After completing the formalities, the UN Secretary-General will head directly to his hotel.
On Friday morning, at 9 am, Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain and Dr Khalilur Rahman, Senior Adviser on Rohingya Affairs and Priorities, will meet with Guterres at the hotel. Later, at 10 am, Guterres will meet with Chief Adviser Dr Yunus at the Chief Adviser's office.
Following the meetings, Guterres will visit the Rohingya camps along with the Chief Adviser and other officials. They will travel to Cox's Bazar on a Bangladesh Airlines commercial flight, where Disaster Management and Relief Adviser Farooq-e-Azam will greet them.
