From 8 am on Saturday to 8 am on Sunday (in a day), 249 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue. At the same time, one person died due to dengue during this period.
According to a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room, among the newly admitted patients, 134 are from Barishal Division, 39 from Chattogram Division, and 9 from Dhaka Division (outside city corporations).
Dhaka North City recorded 8 new patients, Dhaka South City had 35, and Khulna Division saw 8 admissions. Additionally, 5 new patients were admitted in Rajshahi Division, 7 in Mymensingh Division, 3 in Rangpur Division, and 1 in Sylhet Division.
The DGHS also stated that since January this year, a total of 5,988 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide. The cumulative death toll from dengue in 2025 stands at 30.
In the past 24 hours, 222 dengue patients across the country were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 5,299.
For context, in 2024, a total of 101,214 people were affected by dengue, with 575 deaths. In 2023, dengue claimed 1,705 lives, and a total of 321,179 patients were hospitalized.
