The Ministry of Public Administration has made it mandatory to include passport numbers in Government Orders (GOs) for foreign travel by public servants.
On Sunday (July 27), the Ministry of Public Administration sent a letter regarding this matter to the senior secretaries and secretaries of all ministries.
The letter states that while Government Orders are issued for various foreign travels of government officials and employees, the passport numbers of the concerned officials or employees are not being included in these orders.
Due to the absence of passport numbers in the Government Orders, it cannot be confirmed which passport an official or employee is using for their foreign travel.
In this situation, the letter requested that passport numbers be included in the Government Orders for foreign travel of officials and employees.
