The Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, is set to address the nation today following the passing of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The address is scheduled for approximately 12:00 PM on Tuesday (December 30). It will be broadcast simultaneously on Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar.
The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing confirmed the schedule for the speech.
The address comes just hours after Begum Khaleda Zia passed away at 6:00 AM while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
Earlier this morning, Dr. Yunus expressed his profound grief in a condolence message, stating that the nation has lost a "great guardian" and that he is deeply shocked and saddened by her demise.
It is expected that the Chief Adviser will reflect on her national legacy and may provide updates regarding state honors or the current national situation during this period of mourning.
