
The airfare for hajj pilgrims has been decreased. Now the fare is fixed at 1 lakh 28 thousand taka which was 1 lakh 38 thousand 191 taka. As a result the air fare has decreased by 10 thousand 191 taka.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali announced this at his office at the secretariat on Thursday. Secretaries of two ministries and HAB representatives were present at that time.
Mahbub Ali said, last year the plane fair was 1 lakh 38 thousand 191 taka. Responsibilities of Biman will be executed accordingly so that all the hajj passengers can perform hajj.
He said, we held discussions. I have heard speeches of all. We can reduce sufferings of people through all out efforts of all. Steps will be taken so that hajj passengers of the country can perform their hajj in well manner. The honor of Sheikh Hasina’s government has to be maintained.
He also said, never let tears drop from eyes of the guests of Allah. If somebody does that then we will let blood rollout from their eyes, it is my clear word. I hope all concerned will remain alert.
Meanwhile the religious affairs ministry has taken punitive action against 37 hajj agencies after investigation over allegation of irregularities while conducting hajj activities in Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia under private management in 2017.
Besides the ministry has directed to confiscate the security money, cancellation of hajj licenses, suspension, fine from one lakh taka to 15 lakh taka, return of ticket money for the hajj passengers and banning certain persons from all types of activities or filing criminal cases against some agencies.
