
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, discipline can be restored and accidents will decrease if the new road transport act is fully implemented.
He said, to restore discipline on roads the new law has been made effective from November 1 following directives of the Prime Minister. Currently awareness campaign is going on throughout the country to implement the Road Transport Act. This campaign will continue for next seven days. Directions have been given not to file any case under the new law against any vehicle.
The minister said these while visiting the BRTA activities to implement the new road transport act at Sign Board area in Narayanganj on Saturday morning.
About BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s health condition he said, there is no match between the speech of medical board and BNP. BNP is doing politics over Khaleda Zia’s physical condition.
Obaidul Quader said, the physical condition of Khaleda Zia is not deteriorated too much to send her abroad. There are chosen physicians of Khaleda Zia in the medical board. That medical board members are saying that Khaleda Zia is well and is getting proper treatment.
He said, after failing to wage movement BNP is delivering different dialogues to stimulate its leaders and activists. They are complaining to the people after being failed to wage movement. Complaining has turned into a disease of BNP.
The minister also said, cleansing drives are going on at the grassroots level. By this time a list of land grabbers, drug traders, terrorists and extortionists is prepared at the district and grassroots level. They will be brought to book in phases.
BRTA Chairman Dr. Ahsanul Karim, Additional IGP Barrister Mahbubur Rahman, Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Police Super Md. Harun Or Rashid and other BRTA high officials were present at that time.
