As official campaigning for the 13th National Parliamentary Election draws to a close, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has shifted his focus to assessing the actual ground situation across the country.
On Tuesday (February 10), the final day of campaigning, the Chairman remained at his Gulshan office in the capital, communicating via telephone with party leaders and candidates nationwide.
Direct Coordination with Candidates
Atiqur Rahman Rumon, a member of the BNP Media Cell, reported that the Chairman's office was a hub of activity since Tuesday morning.
Tarique Rahman has been speaking with candidates from every constituency to receive updates on the current political climate and the role of the local administration.
Key focuses of these discussions include:
From Nationwide Tours to Micro-Strategy
The Chairman’s current strategy is informed by his extensive nationwide tour, which began in Sylhet on January 22.
Having traveled through Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Barishal, he has personally gathered feedback on the grievances and expectations of the general public.
He is now utilizing that firsthand experience to refine seat-based strategies. In return, candidates are providing detailed reports on:
"The Chairman's initiative to personally check in on candidates at the final hour has sparked significant enthusiasm among grassroots workers," party sources noted.
Looking Toward Election Day
With candidates contesting under the 'Sheaf of Paddy' (Dhaner Shish) symbol in 291 seats, along with allies from like-minded parties, the focus is now entirely on the final battle at the ballot box.
Tarique Rahman is expected to maintain this intensive communication from his Gulshan office until the conclusion of voting on February 12.
