Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today imposed a ban on carrying any sorts of explosives and crackers and explosion of firecrackers in the capital on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Barat.
The holy Shab-e-Barat will be observed on Tuesday (March 7 night) night, according to a circular issued by the DMP.
DMP Commissioner Khandokar Golam Faruq signed the circular, saying the restriction will come into effect from 6pm on Tuesday (March 7) and will last till 6am next day (Wednesday).
The circular was issued under Section 28 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance no-III/76) to maintain law and order in the capital city and protect sanctity of the holy Shab-e-Barat and ensure fair and peaceful celebration of it.
