Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has said terrorist groups are recruiting members from Rohingya camps.

He said this before a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner in Cox's Bazar on Sunday ( May 12).

The foreign minister said terrorist groups are recruiting members from Rohingya camps. This has created problems not only in Bangladesh but also in the surrounding countries. Because terrorists have their own plans and chains.

He said that the Myanmar officials including the BGP and the Army, are fleeing to Bangladesh as they could not deal with the rebel group in Rakhine state. After sending back 330 people who fled in the first phase, 288 people were sent back again a few days ago. Then in the last few days, 138 BGP and army personnel have infiltrated into Bangladesh. Among the 138 newly infiltrated are two majors a colonel.

He also said that the environment and law and order are being disrupted due to Rohingyas. Many Rohingyas are involved in drug and terrorist activities. As a result, the situation is getting worse day by day. Myanmar has always agreed to take back the Rohingyas. But not a single one has been taken in the last seven years. We are talking to different countries so that they put pressure on Myanmar.

The minister said internal conflict in Myanmar existed for the last 70 years. Now there is no scope to show this as an excuse for repatriation. In the last two phases, we have successfully sent back the members of various infiltrated Myanmar forces. Hopefully, they can be sent back soon.
