A human chain was formed on Kurigram-Chilmari road in front of Kurigram Press Club around 11:30 am on Tuesday demanding permission of using motorcycles to cover election news and video footage from the polling centres located in remote areas of the district.
Journalists of the print and electronic media in Kurigram district organized the human chain event.
In the programme, they urged the Election Commission to allow them to run motorcycles for covering election news from the remote areas.
President of Kurigram Press Club Advocate Ahsan Habib Nilu presided over the function where its general secretary and Ekushey TV journalist Ataur Rahman Biplob, Safi Khan of Prothom Alo, Abdul Khalek Farooq of Independent, Khandaker Ekramul Haque Samrat of Rtv, Hasibur Rahman Hasib of Ntv and Raju Mostafiz of Ekattar TV spoke on the occasion.
