Time has been allocated for 3 to 4 days to remove 52 substandard products from market. The concerned organizations were asked to remove those items from the market in this stipulated time.
The information was delivered by Chairman of Bangladesh Food Safety Authority Md. Mahfuzul Haque while replying questions of newsmen on Tuesday.
He said, 16-member committee was formed to control quality of milk. Action will be taken after decision of the committee.
Executive Director of private organization Conscious Consumers Society (CCS) Palash Mahmud filed a writ petition on May 9 with the High Court seeking withdrawal of 52 products from the market and for stopping production of those products until passing the next test.
After hearing of the petition on May 12 Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Rajik Al Jalil delivered the order of imposing ban on those products.
The order said, production and marketing of 52 products will remain stop until those will get clearance through BSTI test certificates.
