Prices of commodities which may be reduced

In the budget proposal for the fiscal year 2019-20 Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has proposed for reducing VAT rate and to offer rebate on different commodities. As a result prices of some commodities may go down.

The commodities are- local made fridge, cancer preventive medicines, country made lift, export oriented garments, leather made shoes, ICT based services, gold, rod, electric motor, biscuit and bakery items, fire extinguishing commodities.

The parliament session began at 3 pm on Thursday with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury in the chair. The proposed budget will be passed on June 30. The new fiscal year will begin from July 1.
