Amjad Hossain’s body to arrive in evening

Legendary film director Amjad Hossain's body will reach Dhaka on Friday evening after a week of his death.

The plane carrying the body will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7pm.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took the responsibility for treatment of the noted filmmaker.

Amjad Hossain will be buried at the intellectual graveyard in the city on Saturday, family sources said.

Amajad, the film director, screenwriter, story writer, lyricist, actor, died on December 14 in Thailand's Bamrungrad Hospital. He was 76.

Born on August 14, 1942 in Jamalpur, Amjad Hossain showed interest in arts and literature at an early age.

The notable films directed by Amjad Hossain include Agun Niye Khela, Julekha, Balyo Bandhu, Pitaputra, Koshai, Abar Tora Manush Ho, Nayanmoni, Golapi Ekhon Traine, Sundori, Sokhinar Juddha, Bhaat De, Janmo Theke Jolchhi, Hiramoti, Janmo Theke Jolchhi, Dui Poyshar Alta.

Amjad Hossain won National Film Award for the films Golapi Ekhon Traine' in 1978 and 'Bhaat Dey' in 1984. Moreover, he has received a good number of prizes in recognition of his talent.

In 1992, he received the Ekushey Padak for his contribution to arts and literature.
