The international release of South Indian star Vijay’s highly anticipated film, Jana Nayagan, has been officially postponed in several key markets, including UK, US, Canada and Malaysia.

The delay follows an unresolved dispute regarding the film's censor certification, which halted its scheduled debut.

On January 7, international distributors confirmed the postponement via statements on X, coming just two days before the movie was set to hit theaters.

The Malaysian distributor specifically cited "unexpected circumstances" for the January 9 delay, stating that they are currently awaiting further instructions from the production team before moving forward.

While a revised release date has yet to be finalized, distributors have urged fans to remain patient and cautioned against spreading unverified or misleading rumors from unofficial sources.

The official statements concluded with an appeal for calm and unity, expressing hope for a favorable resolution while thanking the audience for their ongoing support.
