Hollywood actress and former UN Special Envoy for Refugees Angelina Jolie has highlighted the horrific devastation caused by Israeli attacks in Gaza using satellite imagery.

Sharing before-and-after photos of various areas in Gaza on Instagram, she has called upon the international community to urgently deliver humanitarian assistance.

According to a report by Gulf News, Jolie wrote on Instagram on Sunday (October 4) that opening Google Earth now reveals the fate that has befallen Gaza.

Jolie stated that entire communities in Gaza have been reduced to rubble. Homes, schools, universities, hospitals, roads, and water and sanitation systems—large parts of the critical infrastructure essential for human survival—have been damaged or destroyed.

Citing United Nations satellite analysis, she noted that as of June 16, 2026, 82 percent of structures in Gaza have been damaged, with nearly two-thirds of them completely destroyed.

Jolie reiterated that entire neighborhoods are now in ruins, destroying the infrastructure on which human survival depends.

With winter approaching in Gaza, the suffering of displaced people is feared to worsen further. Jolie stated that 1.98 million people in Gaza—94 percent of the total population—are in urgent need of shelter and essential supplies.

However, she noted that the delivery of humanitarian aid and shelter materials continues to face obstacles and delays. Jolie wrote, "People need shelter before winter arrives.

Humanitarian assistance must reach civilians at the required scale, and medical supplies must be delivered to hospitals."

Jolie remarked that while satellite images reveal the destruction of buildings and infrastructure, they cannot capture the losses of bereaved families or the daily realities faced by survivors.

In her view, it is crucial to create an environment where the people of Gaza can rebuild their homes, schools, hospitals, and communities.

Jolie said,

"The destruction is visible. The needs of the people are known. What matters now is whether those needs are being met."

Earlier, on January 3, 2026, Angelina Jolie visited Egypt on a humanitarian mission.

As part of the trip, she inspected the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt, where she met relief workers from the Egyptian Red Crescent and other local organizations to discuss operations for delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.
