‘When Golam Sohrab Dodul told me the story, it seems to me that I can see the story. It seems to me that the story can entertain the audience. It will help them to go to the cinema halls. From that point of view decision was taken to work together’

‘Sapludu’ film Producer and Rtv Chief Executive Officer Syed Ashik Rahman said these at a press conference on the occasion of releasing the songs of the film at Bengal Multimedia Studio at Tejgaon in the capital on Saturday evening.

Golam Sohrab Dodul is Director of the film created under banner of Bengal Multimedia. If everything goes on right track, after getting censor certificate the film will be released on September 27. Apart from the country ‘Sapludu’ will be released simultaneously from USA and North America. Discussions are going on to release it from some other countries.

Concerned technicians including Director Golam Sohrab Dodul, actors-actress Arifin Shuvo, Bidya Sinha Mim, Saluddin Lavlu, Tarik Anam Khan were present at that time.

About losing heritage of country’s film Syed Ashik Rahman said, once upon a time we along with our family members used to go to watch cinemas. That was our most favorite entertainment. We used to make plans which film we would go to watch. We lost our heritage of watching cinemas along with our family members. But in the western countries people still now watch cinemas along with family members. They watch film in groups in the weekend. I believe ‘Sapludu’ will help us to bring back that heritage.

He said, the earlier two films of Bengal Multimedia were much praised. ‘Janmabhumi’ still is being screened in different festivals. It will be screened in Milan film festival. On the other hand ‘Jodi Ekdin’ was screened in 399 cinema halls in North America.

Shooting of this action-thriller type film took place at Dhaka, Bandarban, Rangamati and Cox’s Bazar from October 27 to December 3 last year. Arifin Shuvo, Bidya Sinha Mim, Salauddin Lavlu, Tarik Anam Khan, Zahid Hasan, Shatabdi Wadud, Runa Khan and others played their roles in the film ‘Sapludu’.

Miss South Africa wins 2019 Miss Universe crown
Miss South Africa was crowned Miss Universe on Sunday in Atlanta after a lavish ceremony filled with glitter and heartfelt speeches about female empowerment. Zozibini Tunzi, 26, finished first ahead of the Puerto Rican and Mexican finalists in a flashy televised event, hosted by American comic turned TV personality Steve Harvey. Television personalities Vanessa Lachey and Olivia Culpo served as backstage commentators, and a panel of seven women determined the winner. Tunzi earned cheers during her closing speech, a new segment of the competition, in which she talked about wanting to empower young women to feel confident. "I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me, with my kind of skin and my kind of hair, was never considered to be beautiful," she said. "I think that it is time that that stops today," she said to thunderous applause. Tunzi beat more than 90 contestants from around the globe in the 68th instalment of Miss Universe, which was held in Atlanta's Tyler Perry Studios. The two favorites ahead of the competition, Miss Thailand Paweensuda Saetan-Drouin and Miss Philippines Gazini Ganados, did not make it to the final 10. The Philippines' Catriona Gray, who presented Tunzi with the crown, took home the Miss Universe crown in 2018. Although she did not make the finals, Miss Myanmar Swe Zin Htet made waves last week when she came out as the competition's first openly gay contestant. "I have that platform that, if I say that I'm a lesbian, it will have a big impact on the LGBTQ community back in Burma," Htet told People magazine, using her country's historic name. Homosexuality is illegal in the southeast Asian country and is punishable by up to life in prison. In 2018, the competition also featured Miss Spain Angela Ponce, who blazed a trail as Miss Universe's first transgender contestant. But the pageant has had a controversial past. Multiple contestants have alleged that US President Donald Trump would regularly enter the competitors' changing room while he owned the organization from 1996-2015. Additionally, Miss Universe continues to host the swimsuit competition, which has drawn criticism for objectifying the contestants, although that part of the pageant was not televised. ‘You’re good-looking’: Ukraine’s leader woos Tom Cruise
Ukraine’s leader isn’t just trying to charm U.S. President Donald Trump — he’s set his sights now on Tom Cruise, too. Mission impossible? Maybe not — Cruise is studying possible Ukrainian locations for an upcoming film, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s office. Zelenskiy tapped his roots as a TV and film comedian when hosting Cruise in the Ukrainian presidential headquarters Monday night. As Cruise walked in, he said “You’re good-looking!,” according to video excerpts released Tuesday by his office. The Hollywood star laughed and said “it pays the bills.” Zelenskiy joked about how exhausting it is to be president, and mentioned the stalled peace process for conflict-ravaged eastern Ukraine. The video excerpts included no mention of Trump or the U.S. impeachment inquiry in which Ukraine plays a starring role. Source: AP/UNB AH
