Truth Behind Dipti's 'Child of a Freedom Fighter Family' Identity
When the country was in turmoil over the quota reform movement, Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik and BNP leader Golam Maula Rony were speaking on a television talk show in the country. The host of the program was Dipti Chowdhury.
In the 49-minute talk show, she showed quite an intelligent discussion and patience from the beginning. After that, she was praised on social media across the country.
Dipti went viral in a hurry. Her face was also included in the graffiti of the anti-discrimination student movement painted on the city wall. However, Dipti could not enjoy the discussion and praise with her heart. She also had to endure the sarcasm. At the end of the talk show, Dipti, angry with Justice Manik, shouted that she was the child of a freedom fighter family.
She has been facing body shaming for so long. She has also been facing sarcasm about her age.
This time, many netizens on social media are asking about the truth behind her 'child of a freedom fighter family' identity. Many are challenging Dipti's claim from various Facebook accounts and pages.
Not only that, many rumors are being spread about Dipti. Dipti Chowdhury is also being bullied through trolling on social media.
In such a context, a photo card with the name and logo of a media outlet in the country has been spread on Facebook containing Dipti's statement. The photo card reveals, "My grandmother's cousin's husband was a freedom fighter."
However, the alleged photo card has been posted on the media outlet's page as there is no truth to the post.
Meanwhile, on Friday (November 22), online activist Nijhum Majumdar wrote on her verified Facebook page, targeting Dipti Chowdhury, "Dipti Chowdhury, you called yourself a child of a freedom fighter family. Who was a freedom fighter in your family? In which sector? What is the name? What is your relationship with him? Simple matter. Why are you delaying in giving this simple answer?"
The fact that the viral photo card of Dipti was purposefully spread was revealed in an investigative report by the fact-checking department of the national daily 'Ajker Patrika'.
In that fact-check report, through various information and data, the issue of Dipti Chowdhury's family and her family's involvement with the Liberation War was revealed. The report said that Dipti's grandfather's house is in Ashtagram, Kishoreganj. Her father's name is Shibli Chowdhury. Dipti Chowdhury's grandfather's name is Nurul Islam Chowdhury, he was the chairman of Adampur Union Parishad of Ashtagram, Kishoreganj. During the Liberation War, Nurul Islam Chowdhury was one of the organizers of the Liberation War.
Since Nurul Islam Chowdhury's sister did not have any children, Dipti Chowdhury's father Shibli Chowdhury grew up with her. Later, they moved to Nasirnagar in Brahmanbaria with Shibli Chowdhury and started living there.
It is known that according to the information received, Shibli Chowdhury's two uncles (Nurul Islam Chowdhury's cousin) Qutub Uddin Chowdhury and Gias Uddin Chowdhury are government-certified freedom fighters. Among them, Qutub Uddin Chowdhury was an assistant teacher at Adampur Dewan Ali High School and is currently retired. Gias Uddin Chowdhury is deceased.
The names of Qutub Uddin Chowdhury and Gias Uddin Chowdhury can be found in the list of freedom fighters on the official website of Ashtagram Upazila.
