Six additional children lost their lives due to symptoms associated with measles during the 24-hour period ending at 8 am on Saturday, bringing the country's overall count of verified and suspected measles-related fatalities to 816.

Health authorities at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) have categorized these latest six fatalities as suspected measles cases.

Following this update, suspected measles deaths in the country reached 721, while laboratory-confirmed deaths stood at 95.

Bangladesh Measles Death Toll Reaches 810 as Five more Children Succumb

Health services recorded 613 new suspected cases of measles over the same timeframe, driving the total cumulative number of suspected infections nationwide to 122,763.

Additionally, 78 new laboratory-confirmed cases were registered, raising the national total of verified measles infections to 15,272.

DGHS records indicate that 105,298 patients exhibiting suspected measles symptoms have required hospital treatment across Bangladesh since March 15, with 101,535 individuals successfully recovering.
