
Seven individuals succumbed to dengue fever while 1,593 fresh patients were admitted to healthcare facilities nationwide during the 24-hour period leading up to 8 am on Tuesday.
This latest toll brings the cumulative number of fatalities resulting from the mosquito-borne disease to 164 across the country since the beginning of the year, as outlined in a report released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the health directorate, the recent deaths were documented across the Barishal, Dhaka, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, and Rangpur divisions.
With these latest additions, the total number of individuals hospitalized for dengue treatment since January 1 has reached 55,163.
Out of this aggregate figure, 50,941 patients have successfully recovered from the illness and have been discharged from hospitals, the DGHS added.
