
Eight additional individuals displaying symptoms of measles have died across the country within the past 24 hours, according to a press statement released on Saturday by the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the same 24-hour window, health authorities identified 1,109 patients presenting with measles symptoms, raising the cumulative count of symptomatic cases to 195,197 recorded between March 15 and October 3.
Furthermore, 43 new confirmed measles cases were registered over the past day, escalating the total number of laboratory-confirmed measles infections to 21,666 since March 15.
Hospitalization data reveals that a total of 173,024 patients showing measles symptoms were admitted to various medical institutions nationwide from March 15 through October 3.
Over this identical period, 167,756 individuals successfully recovered and were discharged from care facilities.
The eight recent deaths among patients exhibiting symptoms bring the nationwide fatality toll of symptomatic measles cases to 1,122 since March 15.
No fatalities were attributed to laboratory-confirmed measles within the last 24 hours; the overall death toll from confirmed measles cases remains at 102 for the period spanning March 15 to October 3.
