
Nine individuals succumbed to dengue while 1,902 patients were admitted to hospitals following infection across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to the latest regular update from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the newly hospitalized patients, 216 were admitted in Barishal Division, 272 in Chattogram Division, 401 across Dhaka Division outside the city corporation limits, 206 within Dhaka North City Corporation, 223 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 306 in Khulna Division, 98 in Mymensingh Division, 105 in Rajshahi Division, 66 in Rangpur Division, and nine in Sylhet Division, the health bulletin detailed.
Official data indicates that cumulative hospitalizations due to dengue across the nation have reached 88,360 up to October 5 this year, with 82,335 patients successfully recovering and being discharged from various medical facilities following treatment.
During the same 24-hour window, 1,988 individuals recovered and were discharged from hospital care nationwide.
With the latest fatalities recorded over the past day, the nationwide death toll from the mosquito-borne disease has climbed to 271 this year.
By comparison, between January 1 and December 31, 2025, Bangladesh recorded a total of 102,861 dengue infections alongside 413 virus-related deaths.
