Israel strikes eastern Rafah as ceasefire talks fail
At least 12 people including women and children were killed as an Israeli air strike hits on two houses in the Sabra neighbourhood of eastern Rafah.
A senior commander of the militant Al-Mujahedeen Brigades along whith his family and the family of another group leader, medics, relative were among the dead, the group said in an statement.

Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel will continue to attack Rafah as ceasefire talks end without a deal. They have launched a new heavy bombardment of the Rafah region. At least 80,000 people have been forced to flee the region.
According to a Reuters report, Palestinian residents said Israeli air strike hits the Rafah area on Thursday (May 9) as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected President Biden's threat to cut off arms deliveries to Israel if he strikes on Rafah.

Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, schools, refugee camps, mosques and churches, have been damaged or destroyed.
