I Don't Want to Interfere in Bangladesh's Internal Affairs: Mamata
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that she does not want to interfere in Bangladesh's internal affairs.
She made this remark in an interview with the Indian news channel News18 on Friday, December 6, regarding the Bangladesh issue.
Mamata said that the Bangladesh issue is an international and national matter, and only the Indian government can make decisions on it. "I just want to say, please protect our people," she added.
She further stated that since West Bengal shares the longest border with Bangladesh, any developments in Bangladesh have an impact on West Bengal as well.
Mamata said, "If something happens in Bangladesh, it will affect India as well." The reason is that we are interconnected and our borders are the same. I don't want that to happen."
Recently, Mamata had mentioned sending peacekeeping forces to Bangladesh. Regarding this, she said that all countries have peacekeeping forces under the United Nations to stabilize situations. Peacekeeping forces were also sent to Sri Lanka during Rajiv Gandhi's tenure to establish peace.
