Iran has launched a fresh series of missile attacks targeting Israel. Both Iran and Israel confirmed the new strikes shortly after 7 PM Bangladesh time on Sunday, June 15.
Iran's state media, IRNA, reported that the country's armed forces have initiated new retaliatory attacks deep inside Israel. Ballistic missiles were launched towards Israel from various locations across the country.
This announcement came just minutes after the Israeli military issued new missile attack warnings from Iran's direction, instructing citizens to seek shelter.
The Israeli military stated that Iran had launched more missiles and urged citizens to enter safe shelters and remain there until further notice.
The Times of Israel reported that sirens were sounding across northern Israel due to the threat of Iranian ballistic missile attacks. Sirens had also sounded in central Israel and the Jerusalem area a short while earlier.
In areas where sirens were active, citizens were instructed to stay in shelters until further notice.
This new escalation follows Israel's widespread attacks on various locations in Iran last Friday morning. The Israeli armed forces named this assault "Operation Rising Lion." In response, Iran launched counter-attacks using drones and various types of missiles.
The two countries have been exchanging attacks for three consecutive days, resulting in the destruction of numerous installations in both nations and hundreds of casualties on both sides.
