Mastura Aziz (49), a former Deputy Assistant Director of Immigration at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, has been arrested for allegedly accepting bribes totaling approximately 140,000 Ringgit.

She is accused of facilitating the entry of Bangladeshi nationals into Malaysia by bypassing standard immigration procedures.

On Monday (January 19), four separate charges were read against her in the Sessions Court, where she pleaded not guilty to all counts.

Details of the Allegations
According to court documents, Mastura Aziz allegedly received the funds in multiple installments during May 2025:

• May 3, 2025: Received 12,500 Ringgit to illegally admit 5 Bangladeshi nationals.
• May 7, 2025: Received 47,500 Ringgit for the entry of 19 Bangladeshis.
• May 11, 2025: Received 52,500 Ringgit in exchange for 21 Bangladeshis.
• May 15, 2025: Received 27,500 Ringgit to permit the entry of 11 Bangladeshis.

Legal Proceedings and Penalties
The charges have been brought under Section 16(a)(B) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009. If convicted, the accused faces severe penalties under Section 24 of the same Act.

The prosecution is being led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Erna Julieza Maaras, while the defendant is represented by lawyer Datuk Githan Ram Vincent.

Bail and Future Hearings
Judge Mohammad Nasir Nordin granted bail set at 20,000 Ringgit. As a condition of her bail, she must:

• Report to the MACC office once a month.
• Surrender her travel documents to the court.

The court has scheduled February 25 for the next mention of the case and the submission of relevant documents.
