Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar unfurled the national flag on Monday to celebrate India’s 77th Republic Day.

In a message shared with the nation, he called for a renewed commitment to the principles of the Constitution and the collective pursuit of a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India).

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the EAM stated, "Honoured to unfurl the #Tiranga on our 77th Republic Day. Let's renew our pledge today to upholding the ideals of the Constitution and working towards a #ViksitBharat." He also shared "heaps of good wishes" with his fellow citizens to mark the occasion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his greetings, describing the national festival as a symbol of pride and honor that should infuse citizens with "new energy and enthusiasm."

This year's celebrations at Kartavya Path were presided over by President Droupadi Murmu, with European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen attending as Chief Guests.

The parade featured a significant focus on the 150-year legacy of the national song Vande Mataram, alongside a display of India’s military strength—highlighting "Operation Sindoor"—and its vibrant cultural diversity.
