A drone attack targeted the United States Embassy in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, early Tuesday morning (March 3). The Saudi Ministry of Defense confirmed that two drones struck the embassy premises.

According to the Ministry, the attack caused minimal structural damage, and the situation was brought under control quickly.

Reports of Explosions and Fire
Earlier, the news agency Reuters reported seeing fire at the embassy building following powerful explosions. Witnesses told AFP they heard loud blasts echoing through the area at the time of the incident.

A spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defense stated:

Security Tightened in Diplomatic Quarter
Local residents in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter—an area housing various foreign embassies and diplomatic residences—reported seeing plumes of smoke rising after the blasts.

Saudi authorities have significantly tightened security across the capital and have launched an investigation to identify the source of the drones and those responsible for the attack.
