India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a constructive dialogue with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on Wednesday night to discuss the escalating conflict in West Asia.

In a statement shared on X, Jaishankar described the conversation as "useful" and confirmed that both nations have agreed to maintain close coordination as regional tensions continue to rise.

The diplomatic engagement reflects a shared emphasis between India and Germany on addressing the humanitarian and geopolitical challenges currently affecting millions in the region.

India has maintained its long-standing stance calling for restraint and dialogue, even as the conflict threatens to spill over into a wider regional crisis.

Meanwhile, a report by The Times of Israel reveals a shifting strategic landscape among Gulf nations. Officials from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain have reportedly expressed that a ceasefire should only be achieved after Iran’s military capabilities are significantly degraded.

Despite frustrations with how the USand Israel have managed the conflict, these Gulf nations believe that ending the war with Iran still possessing its current arsenal would constitute a "strategic disaster" for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

While some Gulf officials are reportedly considering joining an offensive to ensure Iran no longer poses a direct threat to their security, there remains skepticism regarding the ultimate outcome of military action.

All four officials cited in the report agreed that while USand Israeli strikes may weaken the military, they are unlikely to lead to the collapse of the Iranian regime.
