Bangladesh has dropped two places in the latest Henley Passport Index, now ranking 95th globally, down from its previous position of 93rd. Despite the dip in ranking, the index reveals the current level of global mobility afforded to Bangladeshi citizens.
According to the report recently released by Henley & Partners, Bangladeshi passport holders can now travel to 36 countries without a prior visa.
Visa-Free and Visa-on-Arrival Destinations
The list of accessible destinations for Bangladeshis includes:
Asia: Bhutan, Cambodia, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste.
Africa: Burundi, Cape Verde Islands, Comoro Islands, Djibouti, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Madagascar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, The Gambia.
Americas & Caribbean: Bahamas, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago.
Oceania: Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Micronesia, Niue, Samoa, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.
The report notes that while some of these destinations offer full visa-free entry, others require Visa-on-Arrival or an e-Visa upon entry.
Global Leaders in Passport Power
At the top of the index, Singapore continues to hold the title of the world’s most powerful passport. It is followed by:
- 2nd Place: Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
- 3rd Place: Sweden.
- 4th Place: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Switzerland.
- 5th Place: Austria, Greece, Malta, and Portugal.
- 6th Place: Hungary, Malaysia, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
