French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has called on Iran to demonstrate a willingness to make "major concessions" in negotiations with the United States to end the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

A Call for Radical Change
Speaking before the United Nations Security Council, Barrot emphasized that a lasting solution to the regional crisis is impossible unless Tehran undergoes a "radical shift" in its current geopolitical stance.

He urged the Iranian leadership to commit to "peaceful coexistence" with its neighboring countries, suggesting that such a pivot would ultimately benefit the Iranian people by allowing them to focus on building their future.

Diplomatic Stagnation
The Foreign Minister's remarks come at a critical juncture as diplomatic efforts to stabilize the Middle East remain largely stalled. While various channels for dialogue exist, tensions continue to simmer, leading France to take a firm public stance on the necessity of Iranian compromise.

Barrot’s comments highlight a growing international consensus that any breakthrough in the volatile region will require significant policy adjustments from Tehran to break the current deadlock.
