India's Rajnath Singh Pays Homage to Ho Chi Minh

Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid homage to the founding father of Vietnam Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi on Tuesday, marking the leader's 136th birth anniversary.

Rajnath laid a wreath at the mausoleum complex during an official visit to Vietnam designed to bolster bilateral defence and strategic ties between the two nations.

Before the wreath-laying ceremony, the Indian defence minister was received by the Commander of the 969th Regiment.

India, Norway Elevate Ties to ‘Green Strategic Partnership’

Reflecting on the visit, he shared on social media platform X, “His vision, leadership and enduring commitment to national liberation and global solidarity continue to inspire generations. India-Vietnam friendship remains rooted in shared values and mutual respect.”

Rajnath arrived in Hanoi on Monday, launching the first leg of a two-nation tour focused on reinforcing India's strategic and defence partnerships across the Indo-Pacific region.

Upon arrival, he was received at the airport by the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), the Ambassador of India to Vietnam and the Defence Attache at the Indian Embassy in Hanoi, alongside senior officials from Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence.

The high-profile visit follows closely on the heels of Vietnamese leader To Lam's state visit to New Delhi, signaling significant momentum in bilateral ties.
