Law enforcement agencies have released Neha Bora, president of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), the student wing of CPI(ML) Liberation, official sources confirmed to news agency ANI.
Delhi Police stated that Neha Bora was let go following formal procedures under Section 65 of the Delhi Police Act.
However, proceedings under Sections 126/170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) have been initiated against Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), and he will be produced before a Special Executive Magistrate.
Meanwhile, the CJP alleged that Dipke has been taken to an undisclosed location. Speaking to ANI, Ajinkya Shinde, who is leading the CJP in Dipke's absence, said, "It has been over eight hours since Dipke was detained, yet we still do not know his whereabouts. He is not being allowed to speak with his lawyers or party members. We have also not been informed of the grounds for his detention."
Police detained Abhijit Dipke from a residence on Friday, shortly before a planned demonstration at Central Park in New Delhi’s Connaught Place. This marks the second time the CJP leader has been detained within a week.
On the same day, police also detained AISA leader Neha Bora near Jantar Mantar. She had previously been detained on October 10 before being released.
Two other CJP leaders, Sourav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, were also detained earlier and are currently serving five days in judicial custody.
CJP leader Abhijit Dipke had announced a "Lehra Do Tiranga" march at Central Park in Connaught Place upon his return to New Delhi, scheduled for Friday afternoon.
However, hours prior to the event, Delhi Police served a notice at Dipke's residence prohibiting him from organizing the protest march.
Dipke was subsequently taken into custody from the Karol Bagh residence of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) spokesperson Anish Gawande.
Simultaneously, police and security personnel dispersed a large crowd that had gathered at Connaught Place.
