The Chamber Judge Court of the Appellate Division upheld permanent bail of Rifat’s wife Ayesha Siddika Minni granted by the High Court in connection with sensational Rifal Sharif murder case in Barguna. Justice Hasan Foez Siddique of the Appellate Division passed ‘No order’ on a government petition seeking stay on High Court verdict.
Senior lawyer ZI Khan Panna stood before the court in the hearing for Minni while Deputy Attorney General Zahid Sarwar Kazal stood for the state.
Later, Minni’s lawyer ZI Khan Panna said, there is no legal bar for Minni to get released from the jail.
According to the court sources, the High Court granted permanent bail to Minni on August 29. But the court also gave condition that Minni cannot speak to the media. Otherwise her bail will be cancelled. Later, on Sunday (September 1) the state filed a petition seeking suspension of Minni’s bail granted by the High Court. Hearing took place on Monday upon the plea.
Mentionable, Nayan Bond and his associates hacked Rifat Sharif to death at around 10:30 am on June 26 in front of Barguna Government College. Video of the incident went viral on social media which created much impact in people’s mind. In this connection Rifat’s father Abdul Halim Sharif filed a case with Barguna Sadar police station mentioning 12 names. Later on July 16 Minni was taken to the police lines for interrogation. In the night she was shown arrested in connection with the case.
