BNP-Police Clash: Gayeshwar, Aman detained by police

Police detained several BNP leaders and activists, including its standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Dhaka north city unit convener Amanullah Aman, as they took to the streets to observe their sit-in program at the entry points of Dhaka.

Around 12 pm, BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy got injured at Dholaikhal area, during the clash between police and the activists of BNP, after that Police picked up him from the spot.
After 50 minutes clash, Police took the road under their control.

Police also detained BNP's Dhaka Metropolitan North convener Aman Ullah Aman from Gabtoli area when counter sit-ins program was going on.

At the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her Assistant Private Secretary-2 Gazi Hafizur Rahman (Liku) today visited BNP leader Amanullah Aman, who is undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) here.

Gazi Hafizur Rahman handed over a lunch packet sent by the Prime Minister along with a bouquet of various seasonal fruits and juices to the BNP leader, according to a press release from Press Wing of Prime Minister's Office.

Despite the heavy presence of law enforcers, the opposition activists took position at Shonir Akhra, Dholaikhal, Rayerbagh, Jatrabari and Nayabazar and some areas of Uttara and Gabtoli. But around 11 am, law enforcers obstructed them in all areas.
