Khelafat Majlish has called on the National Consensus Commission to prevent the Awami League from participating in elections until it faces justice.
Following a dialogue with the commission at the LD Hall of the National Parliament on Saturday (March 22) morning, the party's Secretary General, Dr Ahmad Abdul Kader, briefed journalists about their stance.
He revealed that out of a list of 166 questions, the commission reached a consensus of 140, disagreed on 10, partially agreed on 15, and required further discussion on one.
Dr Kader emphasized the need for necessary reforms before the election, stating that these could be implemented within ten months.
The National Consensus Commission initiated its main dialogue on Thursday (March 20) to build agreement on proposed reforms. The first discussion took place with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
Continuing this process, the commission held a meeting with a delegation from Khelafat Majlish at 9:30 am on Saturday (March 22). The discussion was led by the commission's Vice President, Ali Riaz, and Khelafat Majlish's Secretary General, Ahmad Abdul Kader.
