
Three new faces have joined the presidium body of the new committee which was elected through the 21st council of Bangladesh Awami League. The joint general secretaries Jahangir Kabir Nanok and Abdur Rahman and former shipping minister Shajahan Khan have been made the presidium members.
The 21st national council of Awami League was held at the Engineers Institutions auditorium in the capital on Saturday. Awami League president Sheikh Hasina announced their names.
The presidium members in the new committee are- Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Begum Matia Chowdhury, Mohammad Nasim, Kazi Zafar Ullah, Sahara Khatun, Nurul Islam Nahid, Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Advocate Pijus Kanti Bhatyacharja, Dr. Abdur Razzak, Lt. Colonel (retd) Mohammad Faruk Khan, Advocate Abdul Mannan Khan, Advocate Abdul Matin Khasru, Shajahan Khan, Jahangir Kabir Nanok and Abdur Rahman.
Jahangir Kabir Nanok was the nomination aspirant in the eleventh national parliament election from Dhaka-13 constituency. But at last Sadek Khan got the nomination. There was rumor that Nanok would be included in the cabinet from technocrat quota. But that was not also happened. But his role of convincing the rebel candidates during election was much praised for unity of the party.
Another joint general secretary Abdur Rahman did not get the nomination in the eleventh national election from Faridpur-1 constituency.
