Bangladesh start Super Eight by losing to Australia
Australia sealed a 28-run win against Bangladesh, via DLS method, in their T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 opener, in Antigua on Friday.
Rain stopped play after the second delivery in the seventh over of the run chase, with Australia at 64/0. Then it stopped play again in the second delivery of the 12th over, with Australia at 93/2.
Meanwhile, David Warner was unbeaten at 53*. Initially, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh initially won the toss and opted to bowl. Bangladesh stuttered right away in the first over as Mitchell Starc removed Tanzid Hasan for a duck.
Then Litton Das and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto began to build a partnership, and Adam Zampa came to Australia's rescue. The spinner removes Litton (16) and then Maxwell struck soon, getting the wicket of Rishad Hossain (2).
