India in Super Eight by defeating Afghanistan

India secured a convincing 47-run victory over Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup Super Eight match held at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. Opting to bat first after winning the toss.

In the group stage of the World Cup, a big team like New Zealand was bowled out for just 75 runs by Afghanistan. Many thought that Afghan could play the semi-final in this World Cup.

Earlier on Thursday (June 20), India set the Afghans a target of 182 runs.

In response, Afghanistan faced a tough challenge and managed to score 134 runs, falling short of India’s target. Azmatullah Omarzai was the top scorer for Afghanistan with 26 runs. Jasprit Bumrah was exceptional for India, taking three crucial wickets. Afghanistan lost 10 wickets. India won by 47 runs. Rohit-Kohli augurs well in the Super Eight with this win.
