Italian tennis star Yannick Sinner claimed his second Grand Slam title of the year, winning the US Open on Sunday (September 8) by defeating American Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5. The 23-year-old became the first Italian to win the US Open singles title and the first player since Argentina's Guillermo Vilas in 1977 to win his first two Grand Slam titles in the same season.

After his victory, Sinner expressed his gratitude, saying, "This Grand Slam was very important to me. It hasn’t been an easy time in my career, but my team and family have supported me immensely. I dedicate this title to a relative who’s unwell, and I want to share this moment with him."

Earlier in the year, Sinner secured his first Grand Slam at the Australian Open, defeating Daniil Medvedev. Meanwhile, the other two Grand Slams of the season—Wimbledon and the French Open—were won by Carlos Alcaraz.
