SAFF Champions Received Prize Money From Ministry of Sports
Sports advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan announced a reward of Tk1 crore for the SAFF Champions on October 31. After the reception in the open-top bus, he handed over the dummy cheque to captain Sabina Khatun at BFF Bhaban.
The National Sports Council didn't take long to pay the prize money to them. After 11 days, the Ministry of Sports handed over separate cheques (Tk3,12,500) each in the name of 32 members of the champion team to BFF.
Apart from this, BFF announced a prize of Tk1.5 crore for girls in the first meeting of the new committee. Female footballers expected to get that money very soon.
Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also announced the award for their excellent performance. This time, BCB has announced to give a Tk20 lakh cash prize to female footballers.
Bangladesh women's football team retained the title after defeating Nepal 2-1 in the final of the SAFF Championship in Kathmandu on October 30. Earlier in 2022, Bangladesh girls became champions for the first time after defeating Nepal 3-1.
