Bangladesh Set to Face Thailand after 7-1 Thrashing by China

Bangladesh suffered a heavy 7-1 defeat against China in the men's hockey classification match at the 20th Asian Games on Thursday, dashing their hopes of securing a fifth- or sixth-place finish.

China asserted complete control over the contest held at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Japan, finding the back of the net at regular intervals throughout the match.

Rakibul Hasan scored Bangladesh's solitary goal via a field goal in the 30th minute.

Following the setback, Bangladesh will now square off against Thailand in the seventh-eighth place playoff on October 3, with the fixture slated to commence at 6:30 am (Bangladesh Time).
