Following setbacks against PSG and Real Madrid, FC Barcelona bounced back in convincing fashion, rediscovering their top form against Deportivo Alavés with a resounding 6-1 victory at Spotify Camp Nou.

The defending La Liga champions dominated Saturday’s (October 31) clash from start to finish, powered by braces from Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

The Catalan side took an early lead just eight minutes into the match through Brazilian forward Raphinha, who comfortably tapped in a low cross from Pedri.

Alavés had a quick chance to equalize three minutes later, but Abde Rebbach fired high from near the penalty spot.

Barcelona held firm against a pair of subsequent counter-attacks from the visitors before doubling their lead in the 23rd minute. Fermín López controlled a pass from Yamal and found the net from a tight angle for his sixth goal of the season across all competitions.

Raphinha had an opportunity to double his personal tally in the 32nd minute, but blazed his effort over the crossbar.

The Brazilian winger made amends in the 41st minute, collecting a pass from López outside the box, cutting inside, and unleashing a powerful left-footed strike to put Barça up 3-0.

The goal took his tally to 15 in 10 La Liga appearances this season. Just before the interval, Yamal added a fourth in first-half stoppage time, finishing precisely with his left foot after receiving a pass from João Cancelo.

The Blaugrana maintained their relentless pressure in the second half. Karim Adeyemi missed a close-range effort in the 56th minute, but sub Gabriel Jesus made an immediate impact just two minutes after coming off the bench in the 62nd minute.

Setting up Yamal, the young winger chipped the oncoming Alavés goalkeeper to mark his 10th La Liga goal in 11 matches.

Another substitute, Anthony Gordon, added a seventh for Barça within seven minutes of entering the pitch, latching onto a pass from Rodri in the 74th minute and neatly dinking the ball over the keeper.

Alavés managed a late consolation goal in the 84th minute when Mariano Díaz found the back of the net to reduce the margin.
