A late goal by Anai Mogini helped Bangladesh to win title of SAFF U-19 Women's Championship beating India by a solitary goal in the final held today (Wednesday) at Birshrestha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city's Kamalapur.    It was the Bangladesh-India exciting final match the local crowd enjoyed after a long time. The crowds came to stadium to support the Bangladesh team and the girls also did not disappoint them by retaining the trophy of championship once again.    Bangladesh launched attack in the beginning of the match by creating some scoring chances, but they could not convert any of them.    After the 45 minutes end with the score in read goalless, both the teams tried heart and soul to break the deadlock. At one stage it was seemed the match was heading for extra time, but Bangladesh's best moment came in the 81st minute when Anai Mogini finally broke the deadlock scoring the all-important goal for Bangladesh in the 81st minute with a perfect lofting angular shot from far post.    India however tried their best to stage a fight back in the match but could not convert any in the remaining proceeding.    After the match, Bangladesh team's head coach Golam Robanni Choton in his immediate reaction said he is very happy of the team's result as it was the total hard work of the girls.    He said the girls played good football in the group stage and proved that they are the only contender of the title.    Choton also thanked the Bangladesh Football Federation's (BFF) president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin, BFF women's wing chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron, BFF technical director and concern officials for his team's victory.    Shaheda Akter Ripa of Bangladesh emerged as the highest scorer (five goals) of the championship. She was also given the most valuable players award.    State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Zahid Ahsan Russel,MP, was the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes.    BFF and SAFF president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin and SAFF secretary Anwarul Haque Helal, were among others, present in the prize distribution ceremony.    Bangladesh, earlier in their opening match, shared point with Nepal playing to a goalless draw, thrashed Bhutan by 6-0 goals, managed a solitary goal victory over India and dumped Sri Lanka by 12-0 goals to secure their spot of final.    While Earlier India thrashed Sri Lanka by 5-0 goals in their opening match blanked Bhutan by 3-0 goals but lost to host Bangladesh by a solitary goal while Nepal in their first match, split point with Bangladesh playing out to a goalless draw, thrashed Sri Lanka by 6-0 goals, drubbed Bhutan by 4-0 goals and edged past Nepal by a solitary goal to secure their place of final.  Source: BSS AH

Only people with the double doses of Covid-19 vaccine would be allowed to enter into the stadium during the three-match T20 International series between Bangladesh and Pakistan, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed today.   This is will be the first time since the outbreak of the deadly virus, the fans will be permitted to enjoy cricket game live from the stadium.   The BCB had already published the ticket price for the much anticipated series with the lowest price of BDT 100 and highest of BDT 1000. The grand stand ticket will be the highest of price while price of VIP stand BDT 500, Club House BDT 300 and Southern/Northern stand BDT 150. Easter Stand has the lowest price of BDT 100. The ticket will go on sale from tomorrow with the first of three T20s starting on Friday.   "Certificate of double vaccination for Covid-19 is mandatory for ticket holders aged 18 years and above. Vaccine Certificate will be checked at entry to the venue on match days," the BCB said in a press release.   Tickets will be found only at the ticket selling booth at Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur. Booth will be opened at 9 AM and tickets will be sold until 6 PM subject to availability before the match.   The BCB, however, didn't clear how many tickets will go on sale from the capacity of 25,000 seats at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. At the same time, they also didn't confirm whether Zahur Ahmed Chowhdury Stadium in Chattogram which will host the first Test from November 26-30 will have fans back into the stadium.   All of the three T20 matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium beside the second Test from December 4-8. Mitchell Marsh smashed an unbeaten 77 as Australia hammered New Zealand by eight wickets to clinch their maiden Twenty20 World Cup title on Sunday.    Chasing 173 for victory, Australia depended on a 92-run second-wicket stand between David Warner, who made 53, and Marsh to achieve their target with seven balls to spare in Dubai.    Warner became Trent Boult's second wicket but Marsh kept up the charge to power Australia home to their long-awaited T20 crown and add to their five 50-over World Cup trophies.    Glenn Maxwell, who made 28, joined Marsh, who hit six fours and four sixes in his 50-ball knock, to put on 66 runs and hit the winning boundary as the Aussies came charging in to celebrate the triumph.    Skipper Kane Williamson hit a valiant 85 in New Zealand's 172-4 after being invited to bat first in a crucial toss won by Aaron Finch as teams chasing have won all but one game at the venue.    Australia, whose previous best was a runners-up finish in 2010, came into this edition's semi-final with one loss to England and beat Pakistan in the final-four clash with a chase of 177.    Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood returned figures of 3-16 and leg-spinner Adam Zampa had 1-26.    Australia suffered an early blow in their chase when Finch departed for five off Boult as a largely neutral but not packed-to-capacity crowd roared.    But the left-right batting pair of Warner and Marsh combined to take apart the bowling with fours and sixes galore.    Marsh hit Adam Milne for one six and two fours on his first three balls of the knock to signal his ruthless intent.    Warner also kept up his punishing act as he hammered leg-spinner Ish Sodhi for 17 runs in one over with just a single to Marsh.    He smoked Jimmy Neesham for a six to raise his third half-century of the tournament but soon fell to Boult.    Warner, with 289 runs in total, ended second behind Pakistan's Babar Azam (303) in the tournament's batting chart.    Earlier Williamson, who was dropped on 21, started cautiously but once settled took on the opposition bowling to reach his first half-century of the tournament.    He finished with 10 fours and three sixes in his 48-ball blitz to lift New Zealand from 57-1 in 10.    The Kiwis initially struggled and lost Daryl Mitchell caught behind for 11 off Hazlewood.    Opening batsman Martin Guptill failed to get quick runs despite his three boundaries and a 48-run second-wicket stand with Williamson.    Williamson survived a spill by Hazlewood in the deep with the ball popping out of the fielder's hand to find the boundary. Pace spearhead Mitchell Starc was the bowler.    The captain hit back with two more fours off left-arm quick Starc who was taken for 60 runs from his four overs, to get some momentum into the innings.    Zampa sent Guptill trudging back to the dugout after the opener's 35-ball 28 but Williamson kept up the charge with two sixes off Maxwell.    Williamson again picked out Starc to smash four fours and one six in a 22-run 16th over and put on 68 with Glenn Phillips, who made 18.    Hazlewood returned in his final over to break the stand with Phillips' wicket and then got Williamson out with a leg-cutter. Bangladesh conceded an eight-wicket defeat to England today to continue their losing-trend in the Super 12 phase of the Twenty20 World Cup.    The Tigers put up a moderate 124-9 after opting to bat first at the Sheikh Jayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, UAE, a score that looked below par. England however had to toil little to overhaul the target as they raced to the victory, making 126-2 in 14.1 overs.    By doing so, England won the first game between the two sides in this format. Opener Jason Roy was instrumental in the facile victory, smashing a 38 ball-61, studded with five fours and three sixes. Dawid Malan was unbeaten on 28 off 25, hitting three boundaries.    After posting a moderate total on the board, Bangladesh needed quick wickets to keep pressure on England. But Roy and his opening Jos Buttler denied Bangladesh any quick breakthrough or strangle the innings, by employing an aggressive brand of cricket right from the outset.    Using their feet well against the spinners, they gave the side a brisk start before Nasum Ahmed broke through with the wicket of Buttler who made a run-a-ball-18 with one four and one six.    Roy however kept treating the Bangladeshi bowlers with disdain and got an ably support from Dawid Malan. Shoriful Islam on his first appearance in the World Cup with senior team dismissed Roy when England were 13 runs away of the victory.    Jonny Bairstow joined Malan and comfortably negotiated Bangladeshi bowlers to sail the side home with plenty balls remaining.    For Bangladesh, Mushfiqur Rahim was the highest scorer for the side with 29 while captain Mahmudullah Riyad and lower order batsman Nasum Ahmed made identical 19 runs.    Most of the Bangladesh batters got their start in the side's first meeting against England in T20 format of cricket but failed to carry on, largely due to the lack of proper execution of shot.    Bangladesh got a poor start with openers Liton Das (9) and Naim Sheikh (5) falling to off spinner Moeen Ali's consecutive deliveries in the third over of the innings.    Liton however indicated a good start by hitting Moeen boundary twice in the first over but he got dismissed by clearing the boundary again while Naim played a lazy drive shot to dig his own graveyards.    England then went atop as fast bowler Chris Woakes removed Shakib Al Hasan for 4.    Mahmudullah joined Mushfiqur Rahim to repair the innings but Woakes, who returned figures of 1-12 in four overs, bowled in disciplined channel to stifle Bangladesh innings.    As the pressure grew up, Mahmudullah tried to break the shackle, only to be dismissed by Liam Livingstone.    Livingstone also took the prized scalp of Mushfiqur who hit three boundaries in his 30 ball-29. England kept the pressure on, leaving Bangladesh seven down before they went past 100.    Nasum surprisingly struck Adil Rashid for six twice in the last powerplay to help Bangladesh propel past 100 but Tymal Mills baffled Bangladesh lower order with slower deliveries to curb their aggression.    Mills ended with 3-27 while Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone scalped two wickets apiece. A ruthless performance saw Bangladesh thrash Papua New Guinea by an overwhelming 84 runs, their highest margin victory in this format-- to confirm the Super 12 of Twenty20 World Cup.    Bangladesh lost their first match to Scotland by six runs before making a huge turnaround with a clinical victory over Oman and PNG. Those two victories bolstered their net run rate also, raising a prospect of being the champions of Group B should Oman beat Scotland in the next game.    At Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Muscat today (Oct 21), the Tigers exactly did what they needed to do to make them in favourable position in their group. And the senior players-Shakib Al Hasan and skipper Mahmudullah, who had to face the wrath after the shocking defeat to Scotland, led the way.    Shakib Al Hasan finished with 4-9, equaling Shaheed Afridi's record of 39 wickets as the highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup, before hitting a 37 ball-46 while Mahmudullah Riyad cracked a sublime 28 ball-50.    Thanks to their performance and the contribution from the other batters helped Bangladesh rack up their highest World Cup total of 181-7 and then the bowlers dazzled with Shakib to wrap up PNG for 97 in 19.3 overs.    Before this crushing victory, Bangladesh's largest -71 runs --victory was against Ireland in Belfast in 2012 and their biggest World Cup victory was by 54 runs against Oman in 2016 T20 World Cup in Dharmashala, India.    Mahmudullah struck three fours and as many sixes in his knock, which was his sixth half-century in this format.    After opting to bat first, Bangladesh again lost an early wicket with opener Naim Sheikh being out on a half-volley delivery of Kabua Morea for duck.    Liton and Shakib then steadied the innings with 50-run partnership, which was only broken after the former played a loose shot to be dismissed. After being out cheaply in the last two matches, Liton Das finally made 29 off 23 with one four and one six in this game.    But senior player Mushfiqur Rahim continued his bad patch to be out on 5 as Bangladesh appeared to be faltered.    Mahmudullah and Shakib brought the side back in contention with free flowing batting against a bowling attack that was not strong enough.    Nevertheless PNG showed great spirit on the field as they took some brilliant catches to stun Bangladesh.    Shakib Al Hasan was one of the Bangladeshi batters to be victimized by stunning catch as Charles Amini ran hard from long-on and dived forward to take a low catch. This superb catch deprived him his half-century for the consecutive second match.    Shakib smacked three sixes for his 46 off 37, following his 29 ball-42 against Oman.    Mahmudullah kept the side rolling and crashed Chad Soper's delivery to backward point for four for his sixth half-century off only 27 balls. But soon after that he mishit a high full toss delivery of Damien Ravu and offered a catch at deep square leg.    The third umpire checked it for no ball but gave a verdict of clean delivery. Even The screen showed mistakenly 'not out', creating confusion but later it was fixed.    After the dismissal of Mahmudullah, Mohammad Saifuddin and Afif Hossain played some big shots to post 181-7, eclipsing their previous highest of 180-2 against Oman in 2016 T20 World Cup in India.    Saifuddin clobbered two sixes and one four in his 6 ball-19 while Afif scored 21 off 14. Kabua Morea, Assas Vala and Demien Ravu picked up two wickets apiece for PNG.    The inexperienced PNG batters were no match for the highly experienced Bangladesh bowlers.    They crumbled at the very outset in the chase of big total with Saifudding opening the gate, dismissing Lega Siaka for 5 in the third over. Taskin Ahmed removed Assad Vala who edged a moving delivery to wicket-keeper Nurul Hasan Sohan.    Shakib then appeared in the stage, bowling four overs in a row to take the game away of the PNG by claiming four wickets. He took the scalp of Hiri Hiri for his fourth and in doing so, equaled Shahid Afridi's 39 for highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup. One more wicket will help his go past Afridi and he is surely getting the chance in Super 12.    After Shakib's quota, PNG were reduced to 29-7, that threatened them to be bowled out for lowest total (Netherlands 39 against Sri Lanka in Chattogram in 2014) in T20 World Cup history. However Kiplin Doriga resisted and rescued the side from the ultimate shamble. Doriga was stranded on 46 off 34 with two fours and two sixes as PNG failed to play full 20 overs.    Mohammad Saifuddin and Taskin Ahmed grabbed two wickets apiece to complement Shakib's 4-0-9-4.
