India has repeated its 2013 feat and secured the Champions Trophy after beating New Zealand by four wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Skipper Rohit Sharma (76) was India's top scorer and helped them chase down the 252-run target with one over to go. He was named player of the match.

"We played some good cricket though the tournament," he said, according to the Times of India. "To have the result our way is a great feeling."

India got off to a fast start through Sharma's first half-century of the tournament. KL Rahul then hit an unbeaten 34 to help seal the win with six balls to spare.

India went through the entire tournament unbeaten after wins against Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand in the group phase, and then Australia in the semifinal.

Many expect the final to be Sharma's final white-ball match for India. The same is true for Virat Kohli.

India won the Twenty20 World Cup final against South Africa last year.

The national team's matches were played in Dubai after the Indian government refused permission for its team to go to official host Pakistan on security grounds.
